There is plenty of excitement and anticipation in the air for Facebook’s Annual F8 Developer Conference that takes place today in San Francisco. The central themes of discussion are expected to be Facebook Live, Messenger for Business, Oculus VR and A.I. We’ll focus on Facebook Live and Messenger for Business as they stand to present the greatest possibilities for small businesses now and in the near future. Hear the latest details and refresh your social media strategy accordingly!
Facebook Live
Facebook continues to express its devotion and belief in the power of video. Live video is a particularly significant priority and Facebook is making it very clear by getting more and more public figures to participate, rewarding live video streams with high placement in users’ feeds and more. And one can only imagine what additional announcements could possibly be in store for us at F8 after the number of upcoming features the company revealed last week!
You will soon be able to stream live video in Facebook Groups and in your Facebook Events! As if these features aren’t powerful enough, the social giant has also announced it will soon be possible to invite friends to view a live stream together and Facebook Live is about to become more interactive with live reactions, live filters and the ability to replay comments. Maybe the most dramatic update to come, however, is the Facebook Live Map which will allow desktop users to browse through live video being shared around the world.
Messenger for Business
Businesses will soon be able to take greater advantage of Facebook’s Messenger application. The app that boasts nearly 1 billion users will soon offer the capability for developers to build chatbots which will basically make Messenger for Businesses much more like the experience that personal users enjoy (and currently, select businesses such as Uber and Lyft). This means participants will be able to enjoy real-time, easy to access customer service with the possibility to access past conversations with great ease to provide more accurate and efficient service.
This is a lot of news to hear from Facebook in less than a week and today is the big conference. There will surely be more surprises to come and if there will be anything to add that can help you market your business, we will share the news and let you know what you can do to get involved!
