Don’t believe the rumors – Google+ is still in the social arena. And while Google’s social network may not be as big as Instagram or Snapchat, there are still definite benefits to using the platform. Learn the latest Google+ news…
Google+ Says Goodbye to Hangouts
In a surprising move, Google has transferred Google Hangouts from Google+ to YouTube Live. From now on you’ll need to set up a live-stream encoder in order to broadcast a live Hangout from YouTube. Other much-loved interactive features will be lost as well in the process including Applause, Showcase and Q&A. However, YouTube affords the ability to save a recording of your live broadcast as well as the ability to select your audience.
A New Look
Google+ has introduced a truly beautiful new look that has made a significant difference all on its own to make Google+ that much more attractive to navigate. Marketers in visual-based industries such as interior design, fashion and retail, take notice. Explore the new Google+ to make a decision on whether you’d like to join or return to the service if you’re not already active on the network.
It has a new look and feel that’s entirely different than the earliest versions of Google+ and even of the Google+ of months before. It’s easy to use, it looks great on mobile… it’s even faster than ever! Google Photos was recently removed from the social network in order to be made into its own feature. Moderators and Community Owners may moderate comments via the “Approve Posting” feature, you may comment with links and images and Google+ is even offering push notifications for users of Google Chrome.
To add, it is no longer required to have a G+ account to register for YouTube and other services.
The Benefits of Using Google+
There are many serious benefits to using Google+. Google+ has the ever-important power of Google search on its side. Your Google+ posts can enjoy greater priority in Google search (be sure to include good, relevant keywords) and your Google+ profile is a great place to add links to your company’s web pages to increase traffic. While the community on Google+ may not be as large as those of its competitors, it is certainly still sizable and it includes numerous users who are dedicated to using the platform. These users are ready to engage and spend plenty of time on the network. They often share other users’ content frequently such as the featured actions of Pinterest.
