A significant number of client engagements this week have had us thinking about getting back to the basics. Remember that social media marketing and campaigns have to have a plan and a strategy in order to gauge effectiveness. Starting a profile will not attract clients without offering them value and giving them a reason to connect. Social media is not passive marketing, in fact it is the exact opposite- it is incredible active!
Think about these three tips this weekend:
1. Engage. Embracing social media is a good start – but streamlining your online strategy is not the only way to get closer to potential clients, you must …engage them.
2. Offer value. Give your audience content it’s interested in. Discuss industry trends, insights and commentary on current events in the industry, innovations in real estate and the up-and-coming. Talking about only your listings is the wrong strategy.
3. The street goes both ways. Respond to each comment on your blog, Twitter or Facebook.
Start and continue conversations, join ongoing conversations, make your page valuable to the greater community. Conversing rather than telling will help you protect your online image.
