Don’t feel like you have time to manage everything? IFTTT is a great problem solver in this day and age of challenging time management. With so many small tasks to attend to in addition to our main work tasks, it’s becoming ever more difficult to simply find the time to do it all. We use IFTT to simplify and streamline various tasks in our office.
What Is IFTTT?
IFTT stands for If This, Then That. This is a time-saving and problem-solving solution that gives its users to freedom to have the service take care of tedious tasks such as updating spreadsheets with social media information, tracking contests via spreadsheets, emailing media files, posting photos to social media and more. It helps users by serving to be a sort of digital assistant but it can only do tedious tasks. IFTTT works using a formula or recipe including triggers and actions that allow the service to understand what needs to be done with what information and in what circumstances.
IFTTT in a World of Social Media
IFTTT is a wonderful tool in today’s social media-focused world. While there are now ways to schedule tweets, posts, photos, etc. through some social media platforms as well as websites created solely for managing social media platforms, there is always something else to be done. Tasks such as keeping track of what goes on in the social media accounts, recordkeeping of social media activity and uploads, notifications and more are all beneath the umbrella of what IFTTT can do for users. The service works with 116 different channels (Evernote, Facebook, email, et al.) that all come with their own sets of specific possible triggers and actions to set up.
IFTTT beyond Social Media
IFTTT also works wonders outside of the social media realm. Imagine the different possibilities for organizing your calendar for work or social time, having the weather reported messaged to you each day, sending automated text messages, getting updates about only your favorite sports teams or from only your favorite journalists, et al. Bloggers can enjoy such features as automatically posting Instagram photos and favorite YouTube videos to their WordPress blogs or blogging Dropbox photos and tweeting links to blog posts automatically in Blogger.
IFTTT is further helping us design our lives to be more streamlined in a world full of excessive information. As we put a greater value on our own time IFTTT is a tool that allows us to be more efficient, more effective and add more value to our clients!
